Key Facts
Fabric Sourcing Guide
Textile Categories & Testing Standards
Our fabric sourcing covers both knit (jersey, rib, interlock, fleece, terry — for t-shirts, hoodies, activewear) and woven (poplin, twill, canvas, denim — for shirts, trousers, jackets) fabric families, each requiring different mills and finishing processes. Dyeing is done via reactive dyes for cellulosic fibers (cotton, viscose) or disperse dyes for synthetics (polyester) — the two aren't interchangeable, and specifying the wrong dye class for a blend fabric is a common sourcing mistake we screen for at the tech pack stage.
Before any fabric goes into bulk cutting, it passes internal testing against buyer-standard tolerances: colorfastness to washing and rubbing (AATCC/ISO methods), dimensional shrinkage (typically within ±3-5% depending on fiber content), and pilling resistance for knit fabrics. GOTS-certified organic cotton and GRS-certified recycled polyester both carry chain-of-custody transaction certificates tracing the fiber back through spinning and weaving/knitting — documentation we provide alongside the fabric itself for brands needing EU ESPR or similar compliance.
Common Questions
Textile Sourcing FAQ
Can you source fabric to match an exact color from my brand guidelines?
Yes, via lab-dip matching against a Pantone TCX reference or a physical swatch. We typically need 2-3 lab-dip rounds to lock an exact shade before bulk dyeing, which we build into the sampling timeline.
What's the difference between GOTS and OEKO-TEX certification for fabric?
GOTS certifies the organic fiber content and chain of custody from farm to finished textile, including social and environmental production criteria. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests the finished fabric for harmful substances regardless of whether the fiber is organic — the two address different things and many premium fabrics carry both.
Do you provide fabric test reports before bulk production?
Yes. Shrinkage, colorfastness, and composition test results are available on request before bulk cutting begins, so you can flag any concern before it affects the full order rather than after.
Can I supply my own fabric instead of sourcing through you?
Yes — this is our CMT (Cut, Make, Trim) service. Ship fabric to our Dhaka facility and we handle cutting, sewing, and finishing without sourcing fabric on your behalf.
