Why SDF Clothing

Jumpsuit and Romper Manufacturer

A jumpsuit is graded as one connected pattern, not a top and bottom joined together — a fit correction anywhere in the torso affects the leg drape and vice versa. We pattern and grade jumpsuits and rompers as their own garment category, which is why our fit-sample process for this category includes an extra check specifically for rise, inseam, and shoulder placement. As certified clothing manufacturers in Bangladesh, we produce under full private label, OEM, and ODM arrangements.

Woven viscose, crepe, and linen-blends for relaxed silhouettes; cotton-spandex or ponte knit for fitted styles. AQL 2.5 inspection before every shipment.

Jumpsuit & Romper Manufacturer FAQ

Why is a jumpsuit harder to manufacture than a dress or separates?

A jumpsuit is a single connected pattern from shoulder to ankle, so a fit issue anywhere affects the whole garment. It also needs a functional closure sized for the full torso-to-leg opening — more construction than a simple side-zip dress.

What's the minimum order for a jumpsuit or romper style?

300 pieces per style, split across sizes and up to 3 colors — the same as our other apparel categories.

What fabrics work best for jumpsuits and rompers?

Woven viscose, crepe, and linen-blends drape well for relaxed, wide-leg styles. Cotton-spandex or ponte knit works better for fitted, body-conscious styles.

Can you build a jumpsuit to a reference photo without a tech pack?

Yes, though a tech pack gets a more accurate first sample. From a photo alone, expect one additional fit-sample round to dial in proportions before bulk production.

Common problems and how to avoid them

Approval path

Plan a proto to check the pattern, a fit sample in the real fabric, and a pre-production sample before bulk. One-piece garments need at least one extra fit round compared with a simple top, so allow for it in your timeline.

Buyer guide

What to specify when ordering jumpsuits and rompers

A jumpsuit is a dress and trouser pattern joined at the waist, so fit problems show up twice: in the torso length and in the rise. Settle these decisions before the first sample and you save a sampling round.

General industry guidance to help you write a tech pack. Not a quote.
Decide Why it matters Typical options
Torso length Fit is judged on a live model or form at full torso length, not on a flat measurement Add 1-2 cm of torso ease for woven styles with no stretch
Fabric Woven drape or knit stretch changes the whole pattern Viscose challis, crepe, cotton poplin, linen blends, ponte or jersey knit
Closure The opening must work with the waist seam and any belt Centre-back zip, front buttons, wrap with ties, elasticated waist
Waist treatment Controls shape and where the garment strains when seated Elastic casing, tie belt, darts, seam with stay tape
Length Leg length per size, including a petite or tall option if planned Full length, cropped, short (romper) with inseam stated in cm

At SDF Clothing the minimum is 300 pieces per style, FOB Bangladesh, with AQL 2.5 final inspection. Send your tech pack or reference sample and we quote within 48 hours.

Common questions

Why do jumpsuits take more sampling than a dress?

The garment has to fit across the shoulder, torso and rise at once. A first sample often needs a second round for torso length or crotch depth.

Can one pattern cover a jumpsuit and a romper?

Usually yes. Shortening the leg from a jumpsuit block keeps the same torso and rise, which keeps the fit consistent between the two styles.

What goes in the tech pack for a jumpsuit?

Include torso length, rise, inseam, waist treatment, closure position and tolerance in cm, plus a fit-model height so the sample is judged on the right body.
